The Audience Business' primary role is to promote access to, attendance at and participation in arts and cultural events by driving audience development in ways that no single organisation could do for itself. Our work currently focuses on the needs of more than 35 ‘subscriber’ arts organisations in and around Edinburgh.

Our core activities are:
- collating and disseminating market intelligence on regional audiences, and on the overall population
- delivering centralised marketing resources and services
- undertaking organisation-specific or issue-based research and consultancy projects around marketing, market research and audience development
- initiating and delivering audience development campaigns targeting existing and potential audiences
- managing active subscriber networks and subscriber events, facilitating information exchange and skills development.
